What are Prompt Gateway and Prompt Guard?
Prompt Gateway enhances prompts: it turns a rough idea into a well-engineered, ready-to-use prompt. Prompt Guard protects data with redaction, encryption, and content moderation.
Where does Prompt Gateway run?
Prompt Gateway is a Chrome browser extension, and every plan includes it. Prompt Guard is sales-led and deployed for your organisation.
Do I need to know how to write prompts?
No. Type what you need in plain words, the way you’d ask a colleague. If something is missing, Prompt Gateway asks a few quick questions, then writes the prompt for you.
Which AI chatbots does it work with?
Any of them. Prompt Gateway gives you a finished prompt to copy, and you paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or whichever chatbot you use. It doesn’t connect to your chatbot or read its page.
How do I open Prompt Gateway after I install it?
Click the puzzle-piece icon at the top right of Chrome and pin Prompt Gateway. Then, on your chatbot’s tab, click the Prompt Gateway icon, or right-click the page and choose Open Prompt Gateway panel. Sign in with the email and password you signed up with.
Does Prompt Gateway send my prompt to the chatbot?
No. You copy the prompt and paste it yourself. What you paste into a chatbot is handled under that chatbot’s own terms, not ours.
Does Prompt Gateway include redaction?
Not by default — enhancement and protection are separate products. Prompt Gateway focuses on writing better prompts; Prompt Guard adds redaction and encryption and is available as an add-on on every plan, through sales.
Does Prompt Gateway store my prompts?
No. Audio, text, and generated prompts are processed in-memory and never persisted server-side. The only stored item is an optional, encrypted keep-me-signed-in token.
Do I need a credit card to start the trial?
No. The 14-day trial requires no card. You add billing only if you decide to continue — and nothing is charged automatically.
Does it answer questions or read my screen?
No. Prompt Gateway only engineers prompts. It never answers the underlying topic and never reads the page you are on.
How does redaction work?
Content moderation runs on every request, on every plan. With Prompt Guard enabled, each request additionally runs through PII redaction and encryption before an enhancement model writes the final prompt, so sensitive details never leave your control.
Can our admin control what employees can do?
Yes. On Team and Enterprise, policy is set centrally and enforced at the gateway. Disabled actions read as policy in the panel, never as a broken feature.
What happens if a safety check is down?
You get an honest message — “Safety check unavailable — your prompt was not sent. Try again.” It is never a false content verdict, and an outage never masquerades as a block.
